[Last Chance] - Episode 3 제3회 第三集

Eunjoo had finished her exam and gone to the restroom to wash up. When she left, Eunjoo saw Siyeon coming inside the school. Eunjoo called out to her, "Siyeon-ssi!" Siyeon turned and saw Eunjoo walking towards her.

"Did you just arrive?" asked Eunjoo. "Exams have already started awhile ago."

"Yeah, I know." said Siyeon, coldly. "I stayed up late at night studying and ended up oversleeping."

"So, what are you going to do?" Eunjoo noticed Siyeon slowly moving towards the fire alarm. "Hey...wait, you can't do that. You can get into a lot of trouble."

"Well, I don't really have another choice. I'm sure the teachers can just reschedule the exams." countered Siyeon.

Siyeon pulled the alarm, triggering loud noise throughout the hallways. Eunjoo scanned the hallways with a distressed look on her face. She did not know what to do and it was too late to reason with Siyeon. Joonhyuk came out of the restroom and saw both Eunjoo and Siyeon in front of the fire alarm.

"What is going on?" asked Joonhyuk as he approached both girls.

"I pulled the alarm." confessed Siyeon. "I came late to school and missed most of the exam."

"So how is that a reason to pull the fire alarm?" Joonhyuk wondered with a puzzled look.

The three of them stared blankly at one another, trying to what was the next best course of action. However, two teachers unexpectedly came down the hallway to investigate the situation. Joonhyuk, Siyeon and Eunjoo had nowhere to run and were unsure of how to respond to the teachers.

"Park Joonhyuk, Song Eunjoo and Han Siyeon. What are the three of you doing here?" demanded Teacher Kim. "Did one of you pull the fire alarm?"

Joonhyuk expected Siyeon to admit to that she pulled the fire alarm. However, he slowly began to realize Siyeon was not going to say admit her mistake. Beads of sweat started to fall down Joonhyuk's face. He looked over at Eunjoo nervously. As Eunjoo opened her mouth to answer Teacher Kim, Joonhyuk decided to cut her off.

"I did it. I pulled the fire alarm."

Both Eunjoo and Siyeon turned to Joonhyuk, their eyes widening in surprise. Teacher Kim did not notice their reactions and further interrogated Joonhyuk.

"Well then, do you understand how much trouble you can get into for pulling the fire alarm? Why would you do it?"

Joonhyuk lowered his head. "Yes sir. I was not prepared for today's exams and was hoping that exams may be rescheduled if something happened."

Teacher Kim shook his head. "Well I'm going to have to take you to the principal's office."

Joonhyuk followed Teacher Kim down the hallway. Both Eunjoo and Siyeon watched in shock. Eunjoo immediately turned to Siyeon.

"Hey, that's not fair. Go to Teacher Kim and explain the truth." said Eunjoo, angrily.

"Joonhyuk might have plan. Hopefully." said Siyeon. Siyeon was trying to be calm, but nevertheless had a hint of worry and fear in her voice. Siyeon turned away from Eunjoo and began to walk to her classroom. Eunjoo was astounded that Siyeon was ignoring the situation and leaving Joonhyuk to suffer the consequences of pulling the fire alarm. Eunjoo called out to her "Siyeon-ssi. Siyeon-ssi! Hey! Han Siyeon!" Still, Siyeon ignored Eunjoo and continued to walk away.

Siyeon sat through her classes for the remainder of the day. Guilt began to build up slowly with every minute. "Should I confess? Is Joonhyuk okay? I mean he should be okay. How much trouble can you get into?"

"Han Siyeon." Siyeon looked up, not realizing that Teacher Yang was calling on her to read a passage from the class textbook. "Great, I'm not even paying attention in class." She realized she needed to tell Teacher Yang the truth after classes ended.

At the end of the day Siyeon walked up to Teacher Yang "Excuse me, Teacher Yang. There's something I need to tell you." She took a deep breath and without any more hesitation, told him the truth. To her complete surprise, Teacher Yang was smiling.

"I see. So you were the one who pulled the fire alarm. I had already known Joonhyuk was lying. After Teacher Kim told me what happened, I graded Joonhyuk's exam first. Although he did not finish his exam because he left to go to the restroom, Joonhyuk was going to receive full marks." Teacher Yang continued to explain, "I could tell Joonhyuk was lying when he said he was not prepared for this exam. However, you should know that Joonhyuk insisted that he was the one who pulled the alarm. Joonhyuk was determined not to reveal who actually pulled the alarm."

"I'll let you go though, since you still came and told the truth. I was actually willing to let you retake the exam after class since you came late. Next time, please do not resort to doing something like pulling the fire alarm." said Teacher Yang firmly. Siyeon sighed in relief. She quickly bowed her head and apologized again for her mistake. Siyeon left the classroom and headed home.

When Siyeon left the school after meeting with Teacher Yang, she saw Joonhyuk walking towards the main gate. Siyeon called him and ran to catch up to him.

"Hey, how are you?"

"Nothing really. I told Teacher Yang the truth, so you're no longer in trouble." explained Siyeon. "Thanks for taking the blame earlier. I never would of guessed you would done something like that."

"Oh that. It's okay, don't worry about it." assured Joonhyuk. "Thanks for clearing my name, I suppose."

"Could I ask though? Why did you do that? We've only just met each other."

Joonhyuk was hesitatant, not wanting to answer the question. Siyeon wasn't sure what was going on. Joonhyuk's head was lowered, avoiding her eyes. Mildly annoyed, Siyeon shrugged her shoulders and walked away. Just as she walked past him, Joonhyuk exclaimed, "Wait." Siyeon spun around and her eyes met with his. Joonhyuk looked straight at her and spoke with a firm, confident tone.

"I like you. Han Siyeon, I really like you."
