As Joonhyuk and Siyeon continued throughout the mall, Joonhyuk kept thinking about what Siyeon said earlier about having more confidence in himself. "Hmm...she says girls like to be surprised. Okay, time to take some chances." Joonhyuk walked closer and closer to Siyeon, eventually reaching out to take her hand.
Siyeon was initially startled. His hand was oddly warm but not in a manner that would cause sweat to cover her own hand. Siyeon could feel the calmness in his grip on her hand. She sensed his confidence that was set in balance with his gentleness. Pleasantly impressed at his actions, Siyeon decided to let him hold her hand.
Eunjoo observed the whole moment between Joonhyuk and Siyeon from one floor higher at Cloud Nine Shopping Mall. Eunjoo's thoughts were swirling in chaos. "When did Joonhyuk and Siyeon get so close?" Her curiosity got the best of her as she found herself walking along the third floor watching both Joonhyuk and Siyeon. *WHAM* Eunjoo was so immersed in watching Joonhyuk and Siyeon that she didn't realize there was a pillar in her way. Everyone within a meter radius turned to see Eunjoo. She ignored their staring looks and immediately returned to the glass ledge to search for Joonhyuk and Siyeon. However, Eunjoo lost them and could not continue pursuit of Joonhyuk and Siyeon. Disappointed, Eunjoo sighed and left the mall.
The next day, Eunjoo woke up to her cell phone ringing. She blindly grabbed her phone and answered it.
"Hello?"
"Eunjoo-ah. It's Joonhyuk. Are you free today? I was hoping to take you out for lunch. My way of saying sorry for running out on you a week ago?"
Joonhyuk was probably the last person Eunjoo felt like seeing right now. Yet, she wanted to talk to Joonhyuk about what happened at Cloud Nine. Eunjoo agreed to meet him. Several hours later, Eunjoo stood outside a noodle shop near Dongsam Park. She saw Joonhyuk heading down the street towards her. However, Eunjoo was a little disappointed when she saw Taebyun with Joonhyuk as well.
Taebyun waved to Eunjoo "Hey Eunjoo! How are you?"
"Oh, hey Taebyun. I didn't know you were coming to eat with us."
"Oh yeah. I told him I would treat him to lunch some time ago." Joonhyuk replied. "Are you okay with that Eunjoo?"
Eunjoo didn't want to seem mean towards Taebyun. "Sure, that's okay." she said, reluctantly.
The three of them entered the noodle shop and found seats. Joonhyuk called the waitress over, "Ahjumma! Three bowls of jajangmyun, please!" While they waited for their noodles to arrive, another waitress brought out a couple side dishes of kimchi. As soon as the side dishes hit the table, Taebyun immediately grabbed some kimchi with his chopsticks.
"Yah Taebyun. You're eating in front of a girl. Show some manners man." scolded Joonhyuk.
Continuing to eat kimchi, Taebyun apologized. "Sorry Eunjoo. I'm just really hungry." He turned towards Joonhyuk, "Anyway, hey Joonhyuk. Who were you with at Cloud Nine the other day?" Both Joonhyuk and Eunjoo looked up alarmed.
"No one, don't worry about it." assured Joonhyuk. "Besides, how did you know?"
"Hey, I saw you at Cloud Nine. I didn't get to see who the girl was, but I thought she looked pretty good. Good job man."
The waitress returned with the bowls of jajangmyun. Joonhyuk and Taebyun were so distracted at the delicious black bean noodles that neither noticed Eunjoo's look of disappointment from Taebyun's previous comment. Suddenly Joonhyuk grabbed Eunjoo's bowl of noodles causing Eunjoo to look up at him.
Joonhyuk smiled at Eunjoo, "Let me mix your jajangmyun noodles for you. I wouldn't want any sauce to get all over your shirt." Eunjoo couldn't help but to return the smile.
Several days later at school, Joonhyuk was walking into the school grounds with Taebyun and Eunjoo. He noticed Siyeon walking ahead of him.
"Hey, I'll see you both later." Joonhyuk ran up to Siyeon and began talking to her.
"Hmm, starting to wonder if Siyeon is that girl..." observed Taebyun. "Whatever. I'll just find out myself."
Not wanting to stick around, Eunjoo said, "I'm going to go look for Sunghee and Hyewon. I'll see you later Taebyun." Eunjoo walked away to look for her friends.
Sunghee and Hyewon were at the other side of the school by the side gate. They were both sitting on a bench, talking about their weekend. They looked up and saw a tall boy walk through the school gate. Sunghee quickly motioned to Hyewon.
Sunghee whispered, "Oh my goodness. He's so handsome."
"Does he go to our school? I don't recognize him." wondered Hyewon. "Oh! He's coming closer."
The boy walked toward Sunghee and Hyewon. His smile was making the girls more and more nervous. Their hearts started to beat, faster and faster.
"Hi, my name is Lee Jungmin. Is this Shinra High School?"
